The Sallie House gained notoriety in the 1990s when Tony and Debra Pickman reported violent paranormal activity, including scratch marks, burns and objects moving on their own. The legend centers on a young girl named Sallie, said to have died during a botched appendectomy performed by Dr. Charles Finney in the home. Investigators and psychics have consistently reported EVPs, cold spots and apparitions, especially in the nursery and basement. Some believe Sallie is a façade for a malevolent entity, based on aggressive behavior toward male visitors.
