The River Inn, originally opened as the Lawton Hot Springs Resort in the late 1800s became a famed Reno getaway through the mid-20th century before closing in the 1970s. Its abandoned remains have since attracted ghost hunters, urban explorers and local curiosity-seekers, many of whom report seeing shadowy figures in the derelict buildings, hearing phantom laughter near the old pool and experiencing sudden cold spots by the riverbank.
