The San Remo Hotel is reported to be haunted by at least two spirits, most notably the “Painted Lady” of Room 33, believed to be a former madam who announces herself by knocking on doors and lingering in the hallway outside her room. Guests and staff also describe a little girl roaming the corridors, heard laughing or running along the narrow halls late at night. Additional reports include unexplained footsteps, doors opening on their own, and the sensation of being followed, particularly in the older wing of the building.
