S.S Ourang Medan Ghost ship – Indonesia

Nearest city: Strait of Malacca, Southeast Asia

In the late 1940s, ships near the Strait of Malacca reportedly received a distress signal from the Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan: ‘All officers including the captain, dead in chartroom and on the bridge. Probably whole of crew dead… I die.’ The Silver Star discovered the ship adrift with all crew dead, eyes wide open and arms outstretched in terror. Even the dog was frozen mid-snarl. No visible injuries were found, and shortly after boarding, the ship exploded and sank, leaving no evidence. Theories range from chemical leaks to supernatural forces, including paranormal energy, spiritual portals and extraterrestrial involvement. The ship was never recorded in Lloyd’s Register and no wreckage has ever been located.
