Poole Park Asylum – Wales
Nearest city: Efenechtyd (near Ruthin), Denbighshire

Originally an elegant estate before being converted into a mental hospital, this abandoned Gothic structure is now a magnet for reports of shadow figures and disembodied laughter. Investigators frequently capture “EVPs” (Electronic Voice Phenomena) of former patients, particularly in the decaying wards where the architecture is slowly being reclaimed by nature. The site is famous for “the man in the window,” an apparition seen staring out at the grounds long after the building was boarded up. Its heavy, somber atmosphere is punctuated by reports of sudden, unexplained gusts of wind that slam doors within the windless, derelict interior.
