Parq Central Hotel – USA
Nearest city: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Parq Central Hotel occupies a 1926 Italianate building at 806 Central Avenue SE that began life as the Santa Fe Railway Hospital for injured employees of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. In the 1940s it became AT&SF Hospital, and in the 1980s it was purchased by psychiatrists, renamed Memorial Hospital, and used as a treatment facility for children with mental illness before closing in 2006 and reopening as a hotel in 2010. Its paranormal reputation is tied to the building’s long medical afterlife, with stories clustering around the years when it functioned as a hospital and psychiatric institution. Reports gathered about the former Memorial Hospital describe a woman apparition watching people in the hallways of the top floor right wing, patients having bedsheets pulled off in the night, and both patients and staff hearing whispers or feeling an oppressive heaviness in the building. A January 2011 investigation by Los Muertos Spirit Seekers added more modern claims, including close-range whispering, sudden coldness, the sensation of being watched, and audio captures on digital recorders, alongside filmed flashlight-response sessions. More recent guest lore keeps the site active in Albuquerque’s haunted circuit, with accounts of knocks, chills, hallway unease, and occasional antiseptic or metallic impressions that seem to echo the building’s medical past.
