Once a booming gold and silver mining settlement in Eldorado Canyon, Nelson was notorious for lawlessness, claim disputes, and violent murders during the 19th century. The mines eventually closed, leaving behind rusting machinery, weathered wooden buildings, and abandoned vehicles now preserved as a ghost town. Visitors and paranormal groups report apparitions of miners, disembodied voices, and strange lights flickering among the ruins at night. Today, Nelson is both a filming location and a haunted tourist stop.
