Ferry Plantation House – USA
Nearest city: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Built in 1830 from bricks salvaged after the Walke “Manor” burned in 1828, Ferry Plantation House sits on land that previously held Princess Anne County’s 1735 courthouse—a layered history that feeds directly into its haunting reputation. Volunteers and investigators consistently reference 11 named spirits (including Henry—often called the most active—and Bessie, a noted “trickster”), with EVP-led stories placing Henry in the former quarters areas and linking him to the site’s enslaved past. Reported activity includes lights found switched on after closing, “dancing” lights over the roofline, and a repeating residual scene of an older man moving from the basement to kneel at a wall later revealed to conceal an old fireplace.
