Case Overview

What happened at Falcon Lake UFO Incident?

On May 20, 1967, prospector Stefan Michalak claimed he encountered a landed metallic craft while exploring near Falcon Lake. Approaching what he thought was an aircraft, he was burned when the object suddenly lifted off, leaving a grid-like pattern of burns on his chest from its vent ports. Michalak was treated for radiation sickness symptoms, and RCMP and the Canadian Air Force investigated the site, recovering soil samples with abnormal radiation readings. Despite skepticism, the Falcon Lake case is often called Canada’s most credible UFO incident, and Michalak’s burned shirt is preserved in the Manitoba Museum.
