Case Overview

What happened at Dragsholm Slot?

Dating to the 13th century, Dragsholm Slot served as a fortress, prison, and noble residence—and is now dubbed Denmark’s most haunted castle, said to host more than 100 spirits. Room 21, often assigned to daring guests, is the epicentre of activity: sudden temperature drops, footsteps circling the bed, and disembodied whispers have all been logged there. Among the castle’s best-known apparitions are the White Lady—a noblewoman discovered walled up during restoration work. The Grey Lady who tends to overnight visitors, and the ghost of the Earl of Bothwell, Mary Queen of Scots’ imprisoned husband, still heard galloping through the courtyard. Modern paranormal teams have captured unexplained knocks, EMF spikes, and EVPs throughout the property, keeping Dragsholm Slot at the top of European haunting lists.
