Completed in 1890 by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir’s family, Craigdarroch Castle is a lavish Victorian mansion with a haunted legacy. Visitors report phantom piano music echoing through empty rooms, cold spots, and the apparition of a woman in white believed to be matriarch Joan Dunsmuir. Shadows are said to linger in the tower stairwell, and staff have experienced lights turning on and off by themselves. Today the castle is a museum, celebrated both for its architecture and its enduring ghost stories.
