Case Overview

What happened at Belgian UFO wave?

Between 1989 and 1992, Belgium experienced one of Europe’s most well-documented UFO phenomena, known as the Belgian UFO Wave. Thousands of witnesses — including police officers, pilots, and military personnel — reported large, silent, black triangular craft hovering low over towns such as Eupen, Wavre, and Liège. Radar traces were confirmed by the Belgian Air Force, which even scrambled F-16s in a failed interception attempt. The most famous image, taken in Petit-Rechain in 1990, shows a glowing triangular object with a central light, though its authenticity remains debated. To this day, the wave stands as one of the most credible mass-sighting cases in European UFO history.
