Case Overview

What happened at USS Yorktown?

Commissioned in 1943, the USS Yorktown is an Essex-class aircraft carrier that served in World War II, the Vietnam War, and even recovered the Apollo 8 space capsule. Now docked at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, the ship is renowned for its paranormal activity, believed to stem from its wartime trauma and the spirits of sailors who died aboard. Reports include phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, shadow figures and apparitions in WWII uniforms. The most active areas are the radar room, locker room, flight deck and the infamous Dark Room, where investigators have captured EVPs and moving shadow forms on video
