The Five Fisherman – Canada
Nearest city: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Now a restaurant, The Five Fishermen occupies a building once used as a mortuary during two of Halifax’s greatest tragedies—the 1912 Titanic recovery and the 1917 Halifax Explosion. Staff report footsteps on empty staircases, swinging doors, and cutlery moving on its own, often occurring late at night when the building is quiet. Apparitions of wet, shivering figures have been seen near the old morgue elevator, and guests sometimes feel a cold hand brush their shoulder in the main dining hall. With so many victims once prepared here for burial, the site is widely regarded as one of Nova Scotia’s most historically charged and actively haunted locations.
