Taman Festival Abandoned Theme Park – Indonesia
Nearest city: Sanur, Bali
Taman Festival is a large abandoned theme park complex in Sanur that was originally developed in the late 1990s as a major tourist attraction featuring an aquarium, cultural shows, and rides before financial collapse and the Asian economic crisis halted operations, leaving the site to decay unfinished. Its paranormal reputation stems from long-standing local stories of security guards and explorers hearing footsteps, whispers, and movement inside sealed structures, particularly in the overgrown theatre and aquarium sections. Urban legend frequently claims a construction worker died during development, with some visitors reporting shadow figures and an oppressive atmosphere in the empty corridors and vine-covered halls. Over time the park’s jungle reclamation, silence, and sudden abandonment transformed it into one of Bali’s most iconic abandoned megasites.
