St. James Hotel – USA
Nearest city: Cimarron, New Mexico
Built in 1872, the St. James Hotel was a notorious Wild West saloon and inn where outlaws, gamblers, and gunslingers gathered. At least 26 people were killed in gunfights inside, and bullet holes still pockmark the ceiling of the dining room. Among the most haunted rooms is Room 18, said to be cursed — locked and never rented out after guests reported violent disturbances tied to a former gunslinger’s spirit. Other ghosts include Mary Lambert, the hotel’s original owner, and spectral cowboys roaming the halls. Today the hotel embraces its haunted past, making it one of the West’s most atmospheric ghost stops.
