Built in 1876, the Silver Queen Hotel is named for its 15-foot-tall portrait of a woman in a gown made from 3,261 silver dollars. The hotel is best known for the spirit of a bride who allegedly took her own life in Room 11, where guests still hear sobbing and knocks on the walls. Paranormal investigators have also reported unexplained voices and shadow figures moving across the saloon area. With its Old West charm and tragic ghost stories, the Silver Queen is a staple of haunted Nevada lore.
