On October 4, 1967, multiple witnesses, including airline pilots and Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers, reported a glowing object streaking across the sky before crashing into the waters of Shag Harbour. Believing it to be a plane crash, rescue teams arrived but found only a foamy yellow slick and no wreckage. The Canadian government officially classified the event as a UFO, as no conventional explanation was found. Decades later, divers and UFO researchers still point to Shag Harbour as Canada’s most famous UFO case.
