Case Overview
What happened at Ogopogo (Nx̌ax̌aitkʷ)?
Rooted in Syilx legend, Ogopogo is described as a multi-humped, serpentine lake creature gliding across Okanagan Lake. Sightings continue into the present: in 2018, multiple videos showed a dark, rolling shape on the water, and as recently as 2025, new footage near Kalamoir Regional Park revived debate. With hundreds of eyewitness accounts and recurring media attention, it remains Canada’s most active lake monster legend.
