Originally built in 1821 as the City Hotel, this historic structure has served as a post office, hospital and hotel before becoming Moon River Brewing in 1999. The building’s haunted reputation stems from its use as a makeshift hospital during multiple Yellow Fever outbreaks, where hundreds of children and adults died, especially on the fourth floor. Paranormal activity includes apparitions, cold spots, disembodied voices, and poltergeist phenomena. Notable spirits include Toby, a shadowy basement entity, the Lady in White, and James Stark, a man shot in 1832 whose ghost is said to push visitors down stairs. The brewery closed in 2024, but ghost tours and investigations continue.
