Mongolian Death Worm – Mongolia
Nearest city: Dalanzadgad, Gobi Desert
Known locally as the olgoi-khorkhoi (“large intestine worm”), this cryptid is described as a fat, blood-red worm up to a meter long, lurking beneath the sands of the Gobi. Nomads warn it can spit corrosive venom or deliver a fatal electric discharge to anything that approaches. Western cryptozoologists began recording these accounts in the 20th century, and modern expeditions still search the desert for proof of its existence.
