Locals say that in the late 1800s, a young woman named Maggie was killed in a carriage accident on the bridge. To this day, it’s believed that if you stop your car, turn off the lights, and call out “Maggie, I have your baby,” her ghost will appear searching for her lost child. Visitors report phantom footsteps on the bridge, cold drafts, and the sound of a woman’s voice crying in the night. The site is a popular stop for ghost hunters and thrill seekers in Sussex County.
