Case Overview
What happened at Kampong Wak Hassan?
Once a thriving Malay coastal village, Kampong Wak Hassan was demolished in the 1980s to make way for military expansion. Its abandoned cemetery and shoreline are now whispered to be haunted. Locals tell of ghostly figures in white, believed to be Pontianaks (female spirits of women who died in childbirth), appearing among the trees or floating above the waves. Visitors also report phantom lights flickering over the water and eerie laughter carried by the sea breeze. Despite redevelopment, the site remains infamous among Singaporean ghost hunters.
