Case Overview

What happened at Gila County Jail?

Built in 1910, the Gila County Jail in Globe housed some of Arizona’s most dangerous criminals, and its cells witnessed violence, despair, and death. Since its closure, paranormal investigators have reported heavy footsteps in empty corridors, cell doors slamming shut on their own, and the apparitions of former inmates lingering in the block. A female spirit is said to haunt the women’s wing, while disembodied voices and phantom screams echo through the isolation cells. Now preserved as a historic site, the jail is a hotspot for ghost tours and investigations in the American Southwest.
