Case Overview
What happened at Gibraltar Point Lighthouse?
In 1893, a subsequent lighthouse keeper excavating the nearby sand dunes unearthed a partial human skeleton and a jawbone buried close to the lighthouse foundations—strongly validating the historical accounts of Radelmüller’s tattered burial. Ever since, investigators and island visitors have documented a remarkably consistent residual haunting. On cold, misty nights, witnesses frequently report seeing a lone, spectral figure carrying a dim lantern glinting near the top gallery deck, accompanied by the distinct sound of heavy, agonizing moans echoing across the beachfront. Digital audio recorders placed near the base of the tower routinely capture low-frequency electronic voice phenomena (EVP), while investigators tracking the site experience sudden, extreme battery drainage on high-intensity equipment, cementing the lighthouse’s status as a premier location for Great Lakes anomalous research.
