General Yuan’s Tomb – China
Nearest city: Chongwen District, Beijing
This unassuming memorial honors General Yuan Chonghuan (executed in 1630 for alleged treason). Due to his tragic fate and reputation as a defender of the Ming Dynasty, stories persist that his spirit still roams the area by night, guarding the Liaodong Peninsula he once protected. Though his body was dismembered, his head was buried at this site, where locals claim to glimpse a wandering figure or feel a lingering, solemn presence.
