Opened in 1913 as a grand railway château, the Fort Garry is Winnipeg’s best-known haunted hotel. The star of the lore is Room 202, where a grief-stricken bride allegedly took her life. Guests report a woman in a white dress at the bed’s edge, weeping, and sheets tugged in the night. Staff also tell of an elevator that stops on the 7th floor uncalled, perfume scents in empty corridors, and phantom footsteps and piano notes drifting from the ballroom after hours.
