A series of 2023 attacks on the Ikitu indigenous community by 7-foot-tall entities with oversized heads and glowing yellowish eyes, witnesses describe the beings as wearing “silver, armored suits” similar to the Green Goblin and possessing advanced levitation technology via round, glowing discs on their feet. The “Face Peeler” name stems from ancient Amazonian folklore (Pishtacos), but modern reports highlight a terrifying physical reality: the beings are reportedly immune to local hunting weapons and can vanish into the jungle at speeds impossible for a human. Community leader Jairo Reátegui Ávila documented a face-to-face encounter where he shot an entity twice to no effect before it “floated and disappeared.” While the Peruvian government officially attributed the sightings to illegal gold miners using jetpacks to scare away locals, the community maintains that the “hovering” maneuvers and silent aerial escapes suggest non-human origins.
