The Devil’s Den Incident refers to a June 1977 close encounter reported by USAF medic Terry Lovelace and his companion Toby while camping on a remote plateau within Devil’s Den State Park.Lovelace later described witnessing a massive triangular craft, estimated at several stories tall, hovering silently overhead before emitting a blue scanning beam that he claimed immobilised and examined them, followed by a period of missing time. Decades later, Lovelace stated that a routine X-ray revealed a small metallic, wire-like object embedded in his leg, which he associated with the encounter. He further alleged both men were later questioned by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and that the encounter led to lifelong psychological trauma and Toby’s premature death.
