On the night of June 9th, 1912, six members of the Moore family, along with two young guests, were bludgeoned to death with an axe while they slept. The brutal nature of the crime shocked the nation. All mirrors in the home had been covered, the windows shrouded, and the killer or killers vanished without a trace. Visitors and overnight guests report phantom footsteps, doors that open and close on their own, disembodied children’s voices, and shadowy figures lingering at the foot of beds. EVP recordings have captured chilling whispers, and some guests have fled in the middle of the night, too disturbed to stay.
