Cairndhu House – Northern Ireland
Nearest city: Larne

Built after 1878 as “Seaview” for Scottish textile magnate Stewart Clark, the mansion later passed to Edith Clark and Sir Thomas Dixon; it became a WWII war hospital and, in 1947, was donated as a convalescent hospital (opened 1950; closed 1986). Visitors and caretakers have long reported figures at the windows, footsteps, and unexplained noises in the derelict rooms, and the site even appeared as a film location (Ridley Scott’s Morgan, 2016), cementing its reputation as “Northern Ireland’s most haunted house.”
