Popular myths claim the owner took his own life after a failed business venture or that a family tragedy involving a mistress led to the house being cursed, though public records often suggest a more mundane history of legal disputes and bankruptcy. Paranormal enthusiasts frequently report sightings of a spectral woman in white hanging from the balcony, as well as an elderly man wandering the overgrown gardens who vanishes when approached. Despite its prime real estate location, the house has remained a stagnant, vine-covered ruin for decades, purportedly due to a powerful curse that causes bad luck or illness to anyone who attempts to buy or redevelop the land.
