Apache Death Cave

In 1878, a group of Apache raiders hid in this cave after attacking a nearby Navajo settlement. Discovered by the Navajo, the cave was set ablaze, killing everyone trapped inside, giving the site its grim name. Today, visitors report hearing ghostly cries, whispers echoing through the cavern, and feeling sudden cold drafts despite the desert heat — making it one of Arizona’s most infamous haunted legends.
