On 23 April 2007, two experienced commercial pilots flying for Aurigny Airlines and Blue Islands reported bright yellow objects hovering off the coast of Alderney, visible from over 50 miles away. Captain Ray Bowyer, with 18 years of flight experience, described two stationary, disc-shaped craft emitting brilliant light above the English Channel. Passengers also witnessed the phenomenon. Air-traffic control in Jersey confirmed unknown radar returns in the same sector, but no official explanation was issued. The UK Civil Aviation Authority later logged the case as unexplained, and it remains one of Britain’s best-substantiated mid-air UFO encounters.
