Aberglasney House & Gardens

Dating back to medieval times, Aberglasney House fell into ruin before its restoration in the 1990s—reviving not only its gardens but, according to staff, its ghosts. Workers reported shadowy figures watching from upper windows before the building was fully reopened, and a recurring scent of pipe smoke follows the apparition of a Georgian gentleman believed to be a former owner. The Nightingale Room is said to host the spirit of a maid seen smoothing sheets and humming before vanishing into the wall. Paranormal teams using motion detectors have repeatedly logged movement on locked floors, cementing Aberglasney’s status as one of Wales’s most quietly haunted estates.
