Case Overview
What happened at Lothian Cemetery?
The atmosphere inside the cemetery is noted for its “acoustic isolation”—where the heavy traffic noise of Old Delhi abruptly vanishes as you walk deeper into the overgrown graves. A secondary hotspot is the northeast corner near the perimeter wall, where visitors report the disembodied sound of a child crying and the sudden, heavy scent of decaying flowers when no blossoms are nearby. Modern documentation includes EVPs of rhythmic marching and the “clicking” of boot heels on stone paths that have long been covered by grass. Unlike many sites in Delhi, the activity here is reported to be aggressive; investigators have documented localized “pressure drops” that cause intense nausea and a persistent feeling of being physically crowded in the open areas between the larger obelisks.
