Opened in 2023, this massive infrastructure project is built upon the Nagargao Plateau, a landscape formerly defined by ancestral agricultural land and high-altitude “Sacred Groves.” The site’s “High-Strangeness” reports began during the construction phase, when workers and security teams reported the sudden appearance of a spectral elderly man—believed to be a Rakhandar (a traditional spirit guardian of the land)—standing on the active runways and near the taxiways at night. Unlike a standard ghost, this entity is described as a “Guardian” who appeared to be physically obstructing the clearing of ancient trees. The activity is most concentrated around the perimeter fence of the North Sector and the ground-level staff quarters.

The most documented phenomena are the “phantom passengers”—shadowy figures seen by ground crew in the terminal corridors during the early morning hours (2:00 AM to 4:00 AM) when no flights are scheduled. Staff have reported the sound of disembodied walking on the polished floors and EVPs of a localized dialect (Konkani) being spoken in the baggage claim area when it is completely empty.
