Case Overview

What happened at Wepre Park & Ewloe Castle?

This 13th-century Welsh stronghold, hidden deep in the Wepre woods, is a site of intense residual military energy from the border wars between Llywelyn ap Gruffudd and the English crown. The most frequent report is the “Ghostly Monk,” seen gliding across the castle’s “D-shaped” tower, often accompanied by the sound of muffled chanting that abruptly stops when approached. Modern activity is concentrated in the Wepre Woods, where visitors document “shadow dogs” and a lady in a floating white dress near the waterfall. Recent 2024 paranormal investigations have captured “Class A” EVPs of a woman’s desperate crying near the castle ruins and localized “dead zones” where all electronic equipment—including digital cameras and EMF meters—repeatedly reboots without cause. The most chilling hook is the “Phantom Army,” reported by locals as the sound of hundreds of marching feet echoing through the valley on misty October nights.
