Carew Castle – Wales
Nearest city: Tenby
Overlooking the tidal millpond of Pembrokeshire, Carew Castle has stood since the 11th century—and so have its ghosts. The most famous is the White Lady, said to be Princess Nest, whose beauty once sparked a war and who now drifts through the great hall searching for peace. Visitors also speak of a spectral ape, bound to the castle after its cruel owner, Sir Roland Rees, was slain by his own pet. Lantern lights flicker in empty towers, and paranormal teams have captured unexplained footsteps and whispers near the banquet hall.
