Suvarnabhumi Airport – Thailand
Nearest city: Bang Phli District, Bangkok
Built over Nong Ngu Hao—“Cobra Swamp,” long feared for graves and unclaimed burials—Suvarnabhumi opened in 2006 only after an extraordinary nine-week exorcism in which 99 Buddhist monks chanted to appease the disturbed spirits. The airport’s signature haunting centers on “Poo Ming,” the so-called Blue Man: during the consecration rites a baggage handler fell into a trance, claiming to be the cemetery’s guardian spirit; sightings of an elderly, blue-faced figure with a walking stick have persisted ever since. Staff reports range from cold spots and flickering lights to elevators stopping at empty floors, and there is even a record of a ritual interruption by a man demanding a spirit house to calm the ghosts. After a 2013 Thai Airways runway excursion, one injured passenger said a woman in traditional cabin attire helped evacuate people before vanishing.
