Local legends tell of murders, suicides, and car accidents on the bridge, and visitors report phantom footsteps, shadowy figures, and screams in the night. Graffiti marks the decaying structure, and thrill-seekers claim to feel a heavy, oppressive presence while walking across it. Some say ghostly headlights appear on the road leading to the bridge, vanishing before they reach the span. Once a local shortcut, it is now infamous as Georgia’s most haunted bridge.
