Karak Highway – Malaysia

Karak Highway – Malaysia

Nearest city: Kuala Lumpur

The Karak Expressway, connecting Kuala Lumpur with the Genting Highlands, is notorious as Malaysia’s most haunted road. Since its opening in the 1970s, fatal crashes and eerie encounters have fed a catalogue of legends: a phantom yellow Volkswagen that appears and disappears, a mysterious child asking drivers for help to find his mother, and spectral figures standing in the middle of the night road. Truckers speak of a ghostly old woman in white drifting along the highway, and some claim time “slips” during night drives. The combination of real accident history and persistent paranormal tales makes Karak Highway infamous throughout Southeast Asia.
