In the 1830s, the McDonald family farm near Baldoon became the site of one of Canada’s most infamous poltergeist cases. Their home was besieged by strange phenomena: stones pelting the walls, fires breaking out spontaneously, and livestock found twisted or dead without cause. Witnesses claimed to see strange animal apparitions, including a giant black goose linked to a local curse. The disturbances reportedly ended only after a local woman advised shooting the goose with a silver bullet. The Baldoon Mystery remains a cornerstone of Canadian paranormal folklore.
