Case Overview
What happened at Sharlie the Payette Lake Monster?
Known locally as “Slimy Slim” or “Sharlie,” this lake monster has been sighted in Payette Lake since the 1920s. Described as a 30–40 foot serpent-like creature with a dinosaur-shaped head, it was first widely reported by a group of townsfolk in 1944. Modern witnesses still claim to see a long, dark shape surfacing near boats, making Sharlie Idaho’s answer to Nessie.
