Case Overview
What happened at Richardson Olmsted Complex?
Formerly the Buffalo State Asylum for the Insane, this massive Medina sandstone complex is anchored by the “residual trauma” of its 19th-century patients. While now a luxury hotel, guests in the “Richardson Room” frequently document shadow figures pacing the wide corridors and the sound of phantom gurneys clicking against the floorboards. The most persistent report involves the “Man in the Grey Suit,” believed to be a former doctor, seen standing at the end of the long, sun-drenched hallways before dissolving into mist. Modern activity includes elevators that travel to the “attic” floors on their own and “Class A” EVPs of frantic whispering captured in the renovated wards. Recent YouTube expeditions highlight “electronic interference zones” near the original heavy wooden doors that were preserved during the hotel’s construction.
