The location is now commonly associated with a rural area of Wakayama Prefecture, and modern explorers claim to capture EVPs, shadow figures, and oppressive sensations, while sceptics argue the site’s fame was amplified by the Fatal Frame (Project Zero) video game series rather than documented history.
