Case Overview

What happened at Glore Psychiatric Museum?

Housed in the former State Lunatic Asylum No. 2 (opened 1874) and later the Northwest Missouri Mental Health Center, the Glore Psychiatric Museum displays historical treatment devices—such as straightjackets, restraint chairs, and lobotomy tools. Visitors and paranormal investigators report EVPs of disembodied voices, sudden drops in temperature, and unexplained footsteps/whispers in the museum’s corridors and former patient wards. Its most discussed spirit is sometimes called the “Woman in the Window,” reportedly seen in the upper-floor exhibits when no one is present, along with recurring claims of shadow figures and localized cold spots near the old treatment galleries.
