Beginning in the early 1990s and continuing into the 2000s, residents of Salida, Colorado reported repeated sightings of a long, metallic, cigar-shaped craft moving silently over the Arkansas River Valley. The most widely known incident occurred in 1995, when witnesses—including local law enforcement—described a horizontal cylinder with no wings, lights, or visible propulsion drifting low across the foothills before accelerating straight upward. Some reports included smaller glowing orbs pacing the main object or circling it before the craft vanished. Amateur video captured in the region shows a reflective, tube-like form gliding against the mountains—footage that UFO researchers still reference as one of Colorado’s most credible “cigar”-type cases.
