Case Overview
What happened at Tuckett Mansion?
Built in 1882 for tobacco magnate George Elias Tuckett, this stately red-brick mansion overlooking Dundurn Street has become one of Hamilton’s most persistent haunt stories. Staff and visitors report footsteps on empty staircases, music boxes playing on their own, and a man’s shadow—believed to be Tuckett himself—seen near the study window late at night. Cold drafts and flickering lights are common during restoration work, and several local ghost tours list the mansion as a “Class-A” active site. The house’s mix of preserved Victorian opulence and unexplained activity makes it a key stop on Hamilton’s paranormal circuit.
