Siberian Cauldrons – Russia
Nearest city: Vilyuysk, Sakha Republic (Yakutia)
Deep within the remote taiga of Yakutia lies the “Valley of Death” (Dolina Smerti), a forbidding region along the upper Vilyuy River shrouded in legend and mystery. Indigenous Evenki hunters have long spoken of strange metallic domes half-buried in the permafrost, allegedly warm to the touch and deadly to those who linger nearby. Soviet-era expeditions reported scorched vegetation and magnetic anomalies but failed to recover the rumored “cauldrons.” Some link the site to the Tunguska and Chulymsky explosions, suggesting a shared origin involving meteor impacts or unknown technology. Despite decades of accounts, no verified coordinates exist, and the area remains largely inaccessible.
